Last Friday evening we drove down to Monterey to take Peter there for the first time. We got a hotel near the Aquarium, parked Friday and didn't move the car until we left for home on Sunday.
I planned a girls weekend with Rachel, Lauren and Kelly. Girls need uninterrupted time together. It's great for reflection, connecting and sing-alongs! We stayed two blocks from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
Though there are many parts of Homeward Bound I don't agree with or relate to, it's written in such an unbiased tone that I can enjoy the sociology without feeling overwhelmed by extreme view points and lifestyles.
Walnut Creek is so concrete and business oriented I often forget about the sprawling open space, even though Mt. Diablo can be seen from anywhere.

4 days and layers of dirt later, we are home! This was one of the best camping trips yet. Great company, perfect weather, very little time spent cooking/cleaning, and a lot of hammock time. We've had our double hammock for a few years now, can't imagine camping without it.
